Slides 34, 37, and 38 are missing.

The slides were originally housed in two wooden boxes, not arranged in sequence. Both boxes carried a sticker reading: “Sister Eleanor Dobby.”

This material relates to MS-525. A document titled “Key to Lantern Slides” (Box 168, Folder 5) provides identification and descriptions for the complete set. For ease of reference, the relevant page from the key has been included at the end of each section of slides [sections correspond to individual pages from the key].

The lantern slides depict the Māori community of Tāheke and the wider Hokianga area, including Tāheke Women’s Christian Temperance Union activities, Sunday School gatherings, and Māori housing.
