- Blockade removed in November. People better clad.

King Movement
- Two vessels, manned & owned by natives, trading between Kawhia & Auckland. At South Head, the King's Pole still standing, but without a flag. Nor is flag of England seen here, though used by native vessels when sailing to town.
- Portion of our people, the Ngatihihairo, have begun to profess loyalty, but are still found a amongst professed Kingites, as well as with Queenites.
- "The pious are loyal but the rest are disloyal, I think, not so much from their objection to the Queen’s rule, as from their natural pride as owners of the soil and still more so from the love of lawlessness.”

Giving:
- This year people give to collections for support of the ministry without gainsaying. Though some still prefer to give to the King, and others to both.
